&lt;p&gt;Face &#224; un monde aux coordonn&#233;es de plus en plus floues et incertaines, o&#249; toute critique semble faire des ravages ces derniers temps, l'artiste &#8212; comme le critique baudelairien &#8212; prend position. Il ne d&#233;daigne pas son discours politique, mais le fait en essayant d'ouvrir les horizons de sens les plus larges possibles, car la politique qui tend vers le bien et l'&#233;galit&#233; n'a pas peur des conflits et des diff&#233;rences, des contradictions et des &#233;checs.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Les &#339;uvres de Patti ont donc la dimension d'un voyage dans le temps qui a toujours devant lui, toutefois, l'urgence du pr&#233;sent. Toute une s&#233;rie de r&#233;f&#233;rences &#224; nos racines, celles jud&#233;o-chr&#233;tiennes, mais aussi, plus tard, celles encore plus anciennes et plus profondes qui rassemblent les peuples de la M&#233;diterran&#233;e et du Moyen-Orient &#8212; malgr&#233; les conflits apparemment irr&#233;conciliables dont nous sommes particuli&#232;rement conscients aujourd'hui &#8212; arrivent en effet &#224; &#233;clairer l'aujourd'hui et son (in)sensibilit&#233;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Si, d'une part, l'excavation dans l'histoire &#8212; qui n'est cependant pas une histoire morte et enterr&#233;e, mais plut&#244;t une histoire qui, bien que d&#233;plac&#233;e, d&#233;g&#233;n&#233;r&#233;e, renvers&#233;e, continue &#224; vivre parmi nous &#8212; &#233;claire les fils diachroniques et synchroniques des trag&#233;dies d'aujourd'hui ; d'autre part, la vision claire du chemin parcouru au cours des si&#232;cles &#8212; &#224; travers des erreurs et des discontinuit&#233;s in&#233;vitables, consubstantielles &#224; la nature humaine et aux processus historiques &#8212; r&#233;v&#232;le une lueur d'espoir dans la perspective que certaines blessures seront un jour, sinon gu&#233;ries, du moins apais&#233;es.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&#192; ce propos, c'est la r&#233;cente production de l'artiste qui est embl&#233;matique : en net d&#233;saccord avec ceux qui consid&#232;rent les diff&#233;rentes cultures, et en particulier les religions, comme les causes premi&#232;res des guerres, Patti d&#233;montre que c'est pr&#233;cis&#233;ment la m&#233;connaissance de la culture de l'autre &#8212; et souvent de la m&#234;me culture &#224; laquelle on se r&#233;f&#232;re &#8212; qui est l'obstacle, car, au moment o&#249; elles se d&#233;voilent dans leur nature probl&#233;matique, il est &#233;galement possible, sous r&#233;serve du d&#233;sir de paix, de trouver dans les traditions, m&#234;me si elles ne se recoupent pas, des traits communs &#8212; peut-&#234;tre tels parce qu'ils ont perdur&#233; il y a de nombreux si&#232;cles, avant que le m&#234;me arbre ne se ramifie en de multiples ramifications &#8212; sur lesquels fonder une fraternit&#233; renouvel&#233;e.&lt;/p&gt;

		&lt;div class='rss_texte'&gt;&lt;p&gt;Roots, radici, origini, passato, sono le parole chiavi della nuova ricerca artistica di Pier Paolo Patti che da una residenza durata un mese a Teheran fa partire la costruzione di una biblioteca della coabitazione pacifica tra i popoli del Medio Oriente e del Mediterraneo.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A met&#224; strada tra un opera artistica e un'azione politica l'artista - tenenedo fede alla sua vocazione - coinvolge in questo caso associazioni, Ong, Istituti di cultura di tutti i paesi dell'area MENA, chiedendo loro come contributo materiali da rilegare in libri che saranno la trama di diverse culture, di diverse storie. Documenti, fotografie, appunti, fotocopie e altro materiale proveniente da Paesi come l'Iran, la Palestina, la Libia, dai porti europei in cui sbarcano i profughi, dai luoghi in cui sono in corso conflitti civili come la Siria, lo Yemen, la Striscia di Gaza.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In questo progetto artistico, Patti si immedesima in Guy Montag (protagonista di &#034;Fahrenheit 451&#034;) per opporsi al motto Bruciare sempre, bruciare tutto. Il fuoco splende e il fuoco pulisce. Ovviamente la critica dell'artista non &#232; contro fantomatici pompieri che bruciano libri, ma verso la strumentale veicolazione dell'informazione diffusa attraverso i media ; contro i conflitti che distruggono, contro le diaspore che alimentano odio razziale e discriminazione religiosa.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Pier Paolo Patti con questa operazione vuole con un linguaggio artistico cancellare il presente e riscrivere il futuro scavando nel passato, Roots, le radici da cui pu&#242; germogliare una nuova e rigogliosa pianta, portatrice di armonia e benessere tra i popoli.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lo storico dell'arte Stefano Taccone, in uno dei suoi testi, scrive della ricerca artistica di Patti : &#8220;Da lungo tempo Pier Paolo concepisce l'arte come riflessione sull'uomo e per l'uomo&#8221; e la scelta dell'oggetto libro ne &#232; conferma : una scelta precisa in quanto il libro &#232; lo strumento pi&#249; diffuso per divulgare e tramandare il sapere, la conoscenza. Rappresenta il &#034;mezzo&#034; di cui qualsiasi popolazione in ogni epoca si serve e che nel tempo costruisce la storia, la memoria collettiva.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Patti parte dall'Iran con la curiosit&#224; e il desiderio tipico di chi fa ricerca. Il suo sguardo sull'Iran si traduce in immagine che racconta, a volte in prosa altre in poesia, il rapporto tra arte, politica e societ&#224; supportando, di fatto, Roots con un altro codice linguistico. L'intensit&#224; del suo rapporto con la memoria e la contemporaneit&#224; del mondo, unitamente alla sua attitudine &#8220;visionaria&#8221; ma anche critica, consentono all'artista italiano di interagire con un'alterit&#224; che in Occidente risulta ancora &#8220;incomprensibile&#8221; e, per un artista che lavora da sempre sui cortocircuiti sociali del nuovo millennio &#8212; utilizzando l'arte come strumento e credendo che essa sia un veicolo fondamentale per l'emancipazione culturale &#8212;, il tema della pacifica coabitazione &#232; terreno fertile per la sua ricerca artistica. Essenzialmente il suo lavoro risuona di una eco tragica, analitica e visionaria insieme. Il suo rapporto l'immagine e con le scritture arcaiche &#232; scandito da un processo di defigurazioni, slittamenti, contaminazioni e stratificazioni. L'opportunit&#224; di trascorrere un mese a Tehran e di far partire quindi il progetto si &#232; resa possibile perch&#233; vincitore del concorso &#034;Artist in residence&#8221; istituito dall'istituto torinese IGAV, Kooshk Residency, Ambasciata d'Italia a Tehran e EUNIC.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;On a beaucoup parl&#233; des contradictions &#233;manant des pays de l'ex-U.R.S.S. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Le temps reste d&#233;finitivement l'&#233;l&#233;ment qui appelle une profonde r&#233;flexion de notre part : il semble parfois suspendu &#224; la m&#233;moire du communisme, d'autres fois il semble chercher insatiablement libert&#233; et bien-&#234;tre. Commen&#231;ant par les diff&#233;rences, notre but est de souligner les dangers du processus d'occidentalisation, le premier &#233;tant le risque de ratification au syst&#232;me capitaliste qui peut s'auto-d&#233;truire dans une lourde crise &#233;conomique comme celle que nous traversons. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Le travail r&#233;alis&#233; pour la 7&#232;me Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Shiryaevo repr&#233;sente le r&#233;sum&#233; de notre exp&#233;rience pour montrer, par un point de vue contrast&#233;, l'h&#233;ritage d'une histoire qui marque encore les peuples de l'Est. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;4300 km driven in 12 days to reach Shiryaevo, passing through Greece, Bulgary, Romania, Moldova,Ukraina and Russia. It was a long journey through that historical piece of Eastern Europe that trace the boundary between East and West.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Many considerations have been made about the contradictions produced by ex-U.R.S.S. countries.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The &#034;time&#034; is definitely the element that call us for huge reflections : it sometimes seems to be hang to comunism memoirs, other times it seems to long freedom and wellness. Starting form the differences, our aim is to underline the dangers of the westernization process, first of all the risk of ratification into the capitalistic system, which is always ready to explode into heavy financial crisis like the one we are going to.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The work realized for the VIII Shiryaevo Biennale of Contemporary Art is an image that represents the summary of our experience to show, into a contrasting point of view, the legacies of an history that still mark eastern people.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;4300 km percorsi e 12 giorni in auto per arrivare a Shirayaevo, attraversando Grecia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia, Ucraina e parte della Federazione Russa ; tutta quella parte dell'Europa dell'est che storicamente mette in relazione Oriente e Occidente.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Molte sono state le considerazioni fatte sulle contraddizioni che esprimono i paesi dell'ex Unione Sovietica o che ad essa facevano riferimento, il &#8220;tempo&#8221; &#232; l'elemento che in modo predominante impone delle riflessioni, esso a volte sembra sospeso nella memoria del comunismo, altre volte invece sembra divorato da un'insaziabile fame di benessere e di libert&#224;. Il nostro obbiettivo &#232; di evidenziare le differenze, ma sottolineare anche i pericoli che l'occidentalizzazione porta con se, primo su tutti il rischio dell'omologazione in un sistema capitalistico che si &#232; dimostrato pi&#249; volte pronto ad esplodere in gravissime crisi finanziarie come quella attuale.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
L'immagine realizzata per l'&lt;i&gt;VIII Shiryaevo Biennale of Contemporary Art&lt;/i&gt;, rappresenta la sintesi di questa esperienza, ma soprattutto di tutti i contrasti ereditati dalla storia recente e che ancora segnano la vita dei popoli dell'est.&lt;/p&gt;
